Forms Flesh Frame | Epperson Gallery
December 7, 2024 - January 26, 2025
Epperson Gallery presents a Juried Northern California Competition/Exhibition.
The theme of this juried show broadly concerns the human figure. This “figuration” can literally portray the human form, in any size, shape, sex or situation to the essence or abstraction of the figure. The juror will be seeking humanity in the “human form”. As depicted over centuries, the gamut of emotion, expressivity, individualism and physicality to be found in the figure is endless. What is out there in contemporary figuration now? What messages and stories through depictions exploring the human form are relevant, fresh, timeless ,surprising and challenging today?
The figure is primary to our evolving understanding of our human identities. Opening Reception/Awards: December 7th, 4:00-6:00 pm.
